Signal amplification for speed sensors. This device, in accordance with the EN 50129 (SIL 4) standard, decouples the signals from single-channel or dual-channel speed sensors in a functionally safe and interference-free manner. The pulses from the input to the output are transmitted in a 1:1 ratio, meaning that both the frequency and phase relationship remain unchanged. The transmission of the rotating encoder signal is also carried out in a functionally safe manner in accordance with the EN 50129 (SIL 2) standard. Additionally, P16800 will implement electrical isolation of the signal during this process. For the connected controllers, the output of P16800 is similar to that of the rotating encoder. Like the rotating encoder, P16800 also obtains power supply through the connected controller.
If necessary, the signal can be converted from an electrical current signal to a voltage signal, or from a voltage signal to an electrical current signal. Additionally, the output frequency relative to the input end can be reduced at a ratio of 2:1, 4:1 or 8:1. When installing controllers that require speed information on rail vehicles, using the P16800 can simplify this operation or make such installations possible. At the same time, the number of speed sensors can be reduced on new vehicles, thereby optimizing the purchase and maintenance costs.
